I started this site in 2008, just having moved into a new place and being met with stark white walls and hugely empty rooms. I left my hometown with but a few personal possessions, the most basic of essential furniture (a bed and a few chairs), yet overflowing with creative spirit to create a cozy and personalized living space.

Moving expenses often eat into most budgets, so furnishing and decorating was very low on the priority list. I needed affordable items while overcoming the challenge of transporting larger items home. I found that the Internet met most of my needs when it came to shopping on a budget and having the convenience of delivery right to my door.

When moving into a new space and essentially starting over/from scratch, the list of needs can quickly become overwhelming. Planning decorating schemes, gathering all the finishing touches, and coordinating them for each individual space can be a daunting task. I found my online bookmarks and wish lists quickly growing large and unmanageable. Neither solution offered a quick and convenient way to index those items for future reference and purchase, so I started this site to provide a quick and easily-accessible visual repository.

Initially, it consisted of just a few items, but as I was able to slowly save up to fill my home, I still enjoyed the cyber-based window shopping experience. I continued adding more items – even those I had neither the room nor budget for. After all, everyone is limited to some budget eventually, and if not financial limitations, space is certainly finite.

Eventually, the collection of links grew so large that I migrated from a free WordPress account to the purchase of a dedicated domain and hosting. To meet these website costs, I began employing referral links to my favorite e-tailers that had gradually come to furnish so much of my living space – from small décor accessories to full furniture set-ups. As such, I receive a small incentive for these link-ups. However, every item featured on this site, with the exception of promotional sales and discounts on specific products as provided by the e-tailer, are hand-picked and selectively posted.

While I do not profess to be an interior designer/decorator of any sort, I like to share items that are either aesthetically pleasing (imho) or offer household usefulness – those smaller, mainly functional, and often overlooked items when furnishing a home.

I am not a seller/vendor of any sort and as such, am only posting my favorite products at some of my favorite online retailers. When it comes to product selection, the convenience of having a multitude of goods at one’s fingertips just cannot be beat – especially for the more niche items often unmet at local brick and mortars. Hopefully, you will enjoy the result of multiple hours-worth of e-window shopping, either finding a useful product or a source of decorating inspiration. Cheers ~!
