Hello Nancy,

I see the dilemma with finding storage for mugs specifically and not cups. I did find this chest that although it specifies cups, might fit mugs also:

Also, here is a “cup” chest at the Container Store that does specify a height of up to 5.5 inches per cup/mug so for smaller mugs, might or might not work.

Sorry I could not be of more help. There does seem to be an unmet need for this kind of storage! Maybe there will be better solutions in the future.
