Home Decor Finds for the Budget Conscious

Bed-in-a-Bags

I usually don’t like buying all-in-one bedding sets. But with the holidays coming up and already feeling so swarmed trying to do numerous other preparation tasks, I just don’t have the time nor energy to try and coordinate bedding independently. So, I began my search at one of my favorite online shopping sites, SmartBargains.

Bed-in-bag sets are usually just too match-y for my liking, but sometimes they can coordinate well without looking so.

I’m shopping for bedding for a guest bedroom, so I’m not really wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money for something that will only be used and appreciated on seldom occasions. I’m hoping to spend no more than $100 for a complete set covering all the bedding necessities.

Here is a nice bed-in-bag in a super-rich chocolate brown stripe pattern. The description states that there is a green in the stripe, but I can’t really tell from the image. This set is only available in the larger sizes – queen and king, so while it won’t work for my guest bed needs, it’s definitely noteworthy. It is an 8-piece set, so it comes with a ton of pieces.

This is another one of those sets available in queen or king sizes only, but I thought I would include it here because it looked pretty gorgeous and was a little cheaper than the previous set. This one offers a whopping 11-pieces as described on the site: (Queen) Queen set includes 92″ x 96″ comforter, one 59″ x 80″ x 15″ queen size bedskirt, two 20″ x 26″ shams, 18″ x 18″ dec pillow, 6″ x 18″ dec pillow, 90″ x 104″ flat sheet, 60″ x 80″ fitted, two 20″ x 32″ pillowcases (King) King set includes 108″ x 96″ king comforter, one 77″ x 80″ x 15″ king size bedskirt, two 20″ x 36″ shams, 112″ x 102″ flat sheet, 78″ x 80 “x 15″ fitted sheet, two 21″ x 42″ pillowcases, two 12″ x 18″ budoir pillows, one neck roll 6″ x 18

This Davinci set (available in queen or king) is a 12-piece set and comes in four colors. I think they all look pretty gorgeous, though the Navy image seems a little dark on-screen. I like the border that adds a little interest to otherwise, solid-colored bedding.

Here is a set for those wanting a bolder, two-toned look in a choice of three colors. This is definitely very eye-catching bedding for those wanting to create that sort of statement.

This Lenox set looks a bit similar to the Davinci set, but it features a single stripe against a solid instead. Again, it is available in four colors much like the other sets and is another 12-piece.

This North End features the same stripe on solid design, but has a wider, slightly more pronounced stripe border than the rest. Also, the color selections are a little more varied than the other sets and are a bit more muted.

This set would be perfect for those who desire the look of crisp, white bedding but wanted some sort of accent color also. It comes in two color choices and is again, a 12-piece set available in the larger bedding sizes.

I thought this Claiborne set looked very sophisticated with its elegant pattern and off-white color tone. This set is a little smaller 8-piece consisting of: one comforter, two shams, one bedskirt, four pillowcases, two fitted sheets, and two flat sheets.

This Martin Striped set is not as neutral as the other bed-in-a-bag sets and would probably have to be coordinated with a specific room scheme, but I thought the colors were vivid while not being outrageous and the quilted look to the comforter was rather nice.
